Unless we fight proposed cuts, all three train stations serving this community, (Herne Hill, Denmark Hill and Loughborough Junction) as well as other stations close by such as Tulse Hill and Streatham will be hit by extreme cuts in service following changes proposed in the Thameslink Programme:
- The entire South London Line service is being replaced by insufficient services on an infrequent branch of the coming East London Line.
- The existing Thameslink line from Herne Hill and Loughborough junction will terminate at Blackfriars and we will lose our direct lines to St. Pancras International, the City and Luton Airport.
Our parliamentary candidate, Kemi Adegoke says “We have already been neglected where a link to Brixton could have been put on the East London Line. No one else is thinking about improving this area, and Labour certainly hasn’t done anything about this issue”.
Kemi is currently lobbying the Mayor’s office, FirstCapitalConnect and Network Rail. Kemi and other local Conservatives are keen to work with residents in this area who may have expertise or knowledge that will help us fight these proposed cuts.
Please contact us with any ideas you have for addressing the the threat to our local transport links
