About Us
Hamish, Bettie and Andrew are all local Herne Hill residents. Like most of you we chose to live in Herne Hill because of all the great things that it has to offer: a sense of community uncommon in London, great transport links, some wonderful green spaces and a diverse array of local shops and restaurants.
However, we are committed to making Herne Hill even better. That is why we are standing to represent you as local councilors in the local elections in May 2010.
Herne Hill residents have been let down by Labour Lambeth. Council inefficiency (resulting in high taxes and poor services), a lack of primary school places, appalling council services and ongoing issues of law and order are just some of the issues that we will be focusing on in the year ahead.
We believe that Labour Lambeth is taking the electorate for granted. Local councilors seem more interested in representing the Town Hall to the people than representing local residents at the Town Hall. We want to do things differently. As your local councilors we will make sure that your voice is heard in Lambeth
Over 2009-2010 we will therefore be campaigning on the issues that matter to local residents, whether it is making sure there is a primary school place nearby for you child, ensuring that your council tax is spent carefully or protecting vital services from further cuts.
We are working as local residents to do things now to improve Herne Hill and are not just sitting around waiting to get elected. As you will see from this website we are actively campaigning on issue in order to achieve change.
Therefore we also want to find out from you what issues you think we need to be taking up on behalf of local residents.
If you have a local issue you want to raise with us to see how we can help don’t hesitate to contact us (see contact details page).
Likewise please feel free to contact us if you want to learn more about our campaign, what we can do for the local community and how you could get involved to help us win.
We want to hear from you about the local issues that concern you. If you have a local issue you want to raise or want to learn more about what we are doing for the local community see our contact details below.
